Mapa na freemap.sk je tvorená z dát projektu OpenStreetMap, ktoré sú šírené pod ODbL.
Kartografický vzhľad mapy je licencovaný pod CC-by-SA 2.0.
Mapa na území Slovenska obsahuje reliéf a vrstevnice vytvorené z dát DMR20, poskytnutých Štátnym geologickým ústavom Dionýza Štúra. Šírenie týchto dát je možné len ako bitmapa v spojení s mapou freemap.sk.
Mimo územia Slovenska sú reliéf a vrstevnice vytvorené z dát projektu SRTM pod licenciou public domain.
Použitie mapy
Pri použití mapy je potrebné uviesť:

You must also make it clear that the data is available under the Open Database License, and if using our map tiles, that the cartography is licensed as CC-BY-SA.
You may do this by linking to this copyright page. Alternatively, and as a requirement if you are distributing OSM in a data form, you can name and link directly to the license(s).
