Conference OSSConf
SOIT and Freemap Slovakia organize section on conference "OSSConf 2012", which will take place on 2nd to 4th July 2012 in Žilina, Slovakia. Sections OpenStreetMap and OpenGis will take place on Tuesday, 3rd July.
Topics
Conference as whole is focused on free and open source software (OSS), sections OpenStreetMap and OpenGIS will focus on OSS in these fields. The topics can focus on OpenStreetMap (which tools, visualisation, searching, geocoding, mobile applications, other uses, ...), OpenGIS (use of opensource and opendata in GIS, ...), or other topics which are OSS and connected to geo data or processes.Mapping Party
On Tuesday afternoon we organize a MicroMappingParty. It will consist of training on mapping, division of terrain, upload with help of experienced mappers and celebratory rendering of new tiles.Guidelines for authors and presenters
Presentations on the conference. Deadline for abstracts is 10th June 2012. Deadline for whole presentations in 17th June 2012.There will also be printed peer-reviewed conference proceedings, deadline na for peer-reviewed proceedings is 27th May 2012 (full texts).
Guidelines for attendees
TBD, the conference will take place in campus of Žilina university, accommodation will be in nearby dormitories.--
